night joy- God's intervention
ok so i thought i would give you a story of God's intervention. this is not your typical christianise story mind you but it is mine to celebrate nonetheless. it goes like this.
it was my husband's birthday last month and he decided we do something different with the family. why not go bowling. bowling? we all met at a very trendy Mexican restaurant and although i had stopped drinking, my weakness happens to be sangria. three glasses later- i know, i know, my kids kept pouring their mom a drink! the message was clear. sometimes you just have to live a little!
after many laughs we headed to the bowling alley. fit for shoes, and all settled in our available lane, i was told they got me bumpers-
In bowling usually for beginners or young children in which the gutters of the bowling lane are covered so that wayward bowling balls thrown by the participant will stay on the lane.
bumpers? i asked. isn't' that what i put in your cribs when you were little? you mean like bowling training wheels? i got patted and hugged but i was getting mad. bumpers? really?
and so went my one request to God who was by now thoroughly enjoying the banter. i asked, 'God, let me look good!' i cannot even begin to explain the hilarity of the night because God decided to get involved in all matters of bowling. not only did he make me look good but everyone else played exceptionally bad especially the undeniable way they all got gutter balls! i felt invincible (the sangria definitely helped). at one point i stood ready to roll and i said, 'a strike would be great right now.' and would you believe that at that moment i got the first strike! and everyone in the family was perplexed as i held my own like this was normal everyday mom can bowl thank you very much.
to cut to the chase, i won the game. i came in first. i knew and so did everyone else that mom had a little help from a friend.
