We open this track, Failure in Jeremiah 2:19
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
God’s plan is for the consequences of our sin to instruct us. We frame badly, we reap consequences and the pain causes us to avoid the wrong framing in the future. That is how it is supposed to work. Instead we often use consequences to create a trauma bond. A trauma sticks when we sit in judgement on God. Something happens, we conclude that God doesn’t have my back. We now have to do that for ourselves.
God designs trauma to instruct us to emblazon the wrong choice in our memory system not to form a trauma bond because we judge God but instead to allow our adrenals and kidneys to instruct us in the night, diverting the blame away form God and people and to our own choices.
We can look back and say, ‘Yup, that is where I framed it wrongly.'
When we can convert an inward failure to never make that mistake again vs making that inner vow that I will never trust again. It goes back t covenant. Here is my covenant offence, I made a mistake. Her are the consequences of stepping out of covenant. That is very different than saying here is where God stepped out of covenant failing to meet the requirements and here is where I cannot trust you anymore because he failed to live up to the covenant.
It is the task of the adrenals and kidneys to look at the pain of being out from under covenant and call it exactly that. The pain is converted to a good thing instead of a trauma bond to time.
Spirit, I call you to attention and challenge you to partner closely with the adrenals and kidneys this night as you look through the day and savour the different flavours of pain after the soul has quieted itself with sleep.
I bless you with eyes to know what was just the junk from life’s lessons and what are the consequences of being out from under covenant with God.
I bless you adrenals with solving the problem well by imprinting heavily upon our memory those consequences so that they do not occur again.
I bless you spirit with wisdom in guiding the kidneys and adrenals into exceptional perspective regarding the pain of daily life.
We have all been there and done that. What would it take for you to reframe the judgements you have made against God? Take the time perhaps in communion with him to explore this teaching more intimately.
we would love to hear from you
