For this track, Celebrating, we go to Psalm 66:8-13
Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;
he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.
For you, God tested us; you refined us like silver.
You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs.
You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.
I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfil my vows to you—
It is not all testing. There is a season that comes after the testing and a protocol when you have framed the stress test accurately, solved the problem of how to survive by walking in covenant resources when there is devouring all around you.
It is such a wonderful thing to look back on a season of purifying, testing, going through the fire and realise it is behind us. To discover the freedom. To look at our lives and see the authority and dominion that is there the joy and peace. All those treasures that come from being refined to the point of six-nines.
In that place of abundant joy lies greater danger than in the time of testing. So often when we come out of this place of purging, into a place of abundance, we become so fascinated with the abundance, so intrigued by the new authority so filled with peace and joy that we become devoured by a lack of perspective of the covenant once again.
The purpose of the purifying is not primarily for us to be happy, healthy and relieved of defilement in our lives. It is so we can exemplify and expand the covenant in our lives.
The first step is to come to God and fulfil our vows. To express our gratitude, celebrate the lessons learned and the process and to vindicate the very nature of God.
So often in the midst of trials, there is a hardening of the heart and a sense of betrayal. How could God do this to me? Allow this to happen? When we come out the other side and see the majesty of his work, the beauty and what he has accomplished in me, it behooves us to cleanse the record of all those pain based thoughts that have emerged during our time in the fire and to vindicate and justify his process, thanking him that he loved us enough and chose us to bring us to this place.
Adrenals, I speak specifically to you and challenge you this day to establish a higher framework for gratitude than you have ever had before. Look at the fruit of situations and not only celebrate the fruit but the process.
Put a big enough frame around it that every fruit points back to the God who is wise enough to know how to produce that fruit in our lives. celebrate, bless, and take every opportunity to look at the good things not just the bad and put a right frame around the fruit so that there can be a righteous celebration to the God of that fruit.
